We are currently living in the house we are thinking about buying. We have been here for 8 months and already know what needs to be done.

No you do not but only a total idiot would forgo having an inspection on the biggest purchase of their life.

You don’t even have to have an inspection for a for sale through realtor house, but as sassy said, when you’re spending more money at one shot than you may ever spend again, don’t you want to know that what you are buying is in good shape?

Yes you should have an inspection there are things you just dont know and in real estate WHAT YOU DONT KNOW WILL DRAIN THE BANK ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don’t care how long that you’ve been living there, you still need an inspection before you even think about plunking down your money. a trained home inspection can find problems that you can’t and won’t. that inspection will pay for itself many many times over, believe me.

In addition to the answers already here, which are totally correct about getting one, you never know what hidden problems a pro will see, keep in mind that the mortgage company and / or home insurance company will likely require one as well. It does not cost a lot and is well worth it
