Take waste into account when buying asphalt shingles
When you buy asphalt shingles, be sure to take waste into account. If you have lots of hips and valleys on your roof, you can expect at least 5 percent waste and possibly more. If your roof is made up of two simple rectangular sloped surfaces, you’ll have almost no waste.
