Ex-owner of landfill in Blago-Mell feud charged with tax evasion
The former owner of a Joliet landfill at the center of an infamous spat between then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his alderman father-in-law was hit today with federal tax evasion charges. Frank Schmidt, 40, of Glenview , was accused of failing to pay more than $2 million in taxes between 2004 and 2008.
