If a person has been living in their home for 8 yrs and it goes into foreclosure, do they have squatters right?

In NC some homes have gone into foreclosure. If a person chooses not to leave their home because they feel the economy has caused them to go into foreclosure do they have squatters rights?

No, they will be physically removed by the sheriff’s department.

No. There are no “squatters rights.”

No, if they unlawfully live in property that is not theirs they are called trespassers or vagrants and they are arrested.

They are not even close to being squatters.

The economy has nothing to do with their foreclosure. They borrowed money from a bank and then refused to repay that money. That is what got them foreclosed.
